Tainen

Today we went to another county in the south, called Tainan. Tainan is almost the oldest city in Taiwan with a lot of nice places. We went to the national park and the calligraphy museum, and had lunch at a Taiwanese fast food restaurant. I had noodles and also some shrimp rolls, which I really liked. We had mango pudding after lunch from a shop nearby, it was lovely and I must try it once more.

We had dinner at an Italian Taiwanese restaurant, and I had pasta with chicken and vegetables! It was wonderful.

Messaging body seems to be very important in Taiwan as all the shops have sth for message, either wooden or electrical! I bought an electrical one today and a wooden tool some days ago.

Tea is a Taiwanese tradition, and they drink tea, both cold and hot every single hour. Wherever we go, we surely drink the tea! They even have green tea ice cream! which looks fantastic and tastes great! I like cold green tea, and my host have given me a package to take home, plus two special cups for hot greet tea! They are lovely...

Today we had a boat trip around the lake in Tainan. It was a hot day but still wonderful with the great hosts and the amazing Taiwan!

Update on me

It's been a long time since I last wrote in here. I am not working on my second master's degree's thesis. I am not sure if writing in this blog regularly makes any sense as it was first created for my Taiwan trip. I have another blog which I update at times, I'd be happy to be followed by my SayTaiwan friends. I write my opinions and thoughts on many issues in that weblog. Click  Here  to see my other blog. Thanks in advance!

Kenting

I had almost 2 independent days in Taiwan! Isabel, Lilya, Kate and I went to Kenting on Saturday morning by bus and train. Daniel was not with us because he went to Taipei to have his own version of fun. We had a 4 hour tour around the city and visited some nice places, like the butterfly garden and the mountain from which you can see a beautiful sunset. We stayed at a youth center Frank had booked for us. The price was fair and it was very clean and comfortable. We spent a lot of our time at the beach and we swam the whole morning. We all burnt and are totally red and painful now :D We also met other SayTaiwan guys like Vaiva and Sam there and came back all together. The beach was very clean and I loved swimming in the ocean. The water was very clear and there was an incredible view in front of us. I enjoyed every moment of my trip and we laughed more than ever and were super happy! Last night after we got back from Kenting,Frank picked us up at the train station...
It is now a year since I traveled to Taiwan, and I can visibly see how I have changed. I have grown up and gained lots of experience...can't say if I feel good about it or not as I am not as cheerful and happy as before,  but I guess this is a sign of growth and wisdom. Last year at this time I was not a student and now I am, having passed a full academic year and should be doing my internship and writing my thesis this year. Maybe the only worry I have now is my internship. I am not yet sure where I will be doing my internship... I need to complete my research and publish at least one of my works by next August. This is a promise to myself!
