Night Market

There is one thing I forgot about yesterday, we had a visit to a place where an old guy made soybean sauce! It was my first time seeing the process of this sauce, and I found that it is very hard and time consuming! The beans had to be in big jars for half a year!!! The man was so hard working and kind...

Today my host and the other guests in Chungain went to sculpture museum in the nearby city, which was an hour and a half away by car. It was amazing but unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos. There were excuisite wood carvings and I loved them, then we bought some souvenirs at the market nearby!

Then we went for lunch at a restaurant and had Haka meal, which is a combination of a lot of foods in the middle of table, with rice of course! It was OK but not exactly my type, so I mostly took sprouts and a little chicken and vegetables.

We tried candies there in markets and got a package as a gift from our hosts.

After lunch we went to the National Museum of Arts in which there was an exhibition of Chogal's paintings. It was amazing and I loved that. The museum was also nice, with a lot of paintings, photos and artworks from the Taiwanese!

After that we went to the Night Market which was fantastic! It was very crowded and full of foods, drinks and ice creams! We tried Taiwanese sausages which are made by rich and meat, in a rice sandwich! It was very new to me and I almost liked it. We also had bubble tea there, from PARTY SHOW which was really good. There are sweet potatoes in that which are like jelly drops, and I liked the taste of milk in tea! We had some Thai food, if I am right, which included shrimps in it! I liked it although I do not eat shrimps!! I am happy I took some shrimps at last :D

There were also a lot of other shops like clothes shops and accessories, from which I bought some earrings and socks, and will buy sandals when we go there again.

Then we had a ride home by our hosts.

I know Frank got so tired today, he patiently took us to may places and markets.

The cities and towns I have been to so far are very clean and people are very polite, too. The foods are nice and the drinks are great! Toilets are clean and most of them have toilet papers! Trash cans are very rare, don't know why, and thus we didn't know where we could dump the trash we had :D I gathered them in a plastic bag and brought them home, there should be a way to get rid of it...lol

Host Guest Emails

I am now much more excited than before. My hosts seem to be wonderful! They are so warm and hospitable and I feel so welcomed even before going there. There are four of us in that town and my host, Frank said that the four hosts are going to schedule for us, the four guests and show us around and help us use our time in the best possible way! That's just cool, isn't it?  I should be thinking of formal clothes for the time we will meet the president of Taiwan. I got my formal shoes already!  I think I will pack my suitcase this weekend!

The most special trip ever!

Traveling is absoloutely one of my favourites and I have been to some European countries, south east Asia and Middle east. I am going to have the most special trip in my life so far…I still can’t believe it’s real! Let me tell you about that : I have been selected for SAY TAIWAN program which is meant to let us experience the authentic culture and lifestyle of the Taiwanese! The Taiwan government has now given me and 249 others from various countries the opportunity to stay in Taiwan for 2 weeks and to live with locals. I am so excited about this because I have always wanted to visit Taiwan and besides, I am going to meet people from all around the world in this program. This is a dream come true! I am sure my experience of this country will be a wonderful one and I will be writing all about my trip here in this blog!
